Hank's is a cubbyhole of a Chinatown bar, music venue and art gallery that fights off the outside world valiantly, offering only about a dozen barstools and five tables to seekers of refuge from the flashy and noisy nightclubs that populate the block. Most nights offer live entertainment, usually grizzled veterans of Honolulu's musical community plucking away at guitars and tapping on conga drums. It's inexpensive, friendly, and a local place, where old-time Downtowners mix with hipsters in an oddly comfortable way. A side note: The guy who owns Hank's Cafe also owns The Dragon Upstairs.
