The drinks

Regular drink prices are pretty affordable here — $3.50-4.50 for beer and $5-$7 for mixed drinks. Unlike a lot of bars, there's a full menu that lists everything, from the non-alcoholic stuff to wines and spirits, to the specialty cocktails and their prices.

Fatty 8 is also home to a few classics that are rare in Honolulu: Boddington's Ale ($5.50), Coconut Porter ($5.50), Peroni ($4.50), and some exotic selections like Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Koshihikari Echigo, an upscale Japanese rice lager (The last two were on the $8-$10 section of the menu.)

Happy hour prices are in effect from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. There's a selected list of daily drink specials for $3.50.
