The inside look and feel
With a sparse, almost-bare decor and cement floors, Therapy's look is like a basic, low-budget diner. The overhead piping, dark gray walls decorated with flyers advertising upcoming sports events give the place an industrial look.
Large plasma flatscreens line the walls, broadcasting the latest game or fight. The furniture is pretty basic too, built (with the exception of the comfortable, high-backed restaurant booths that line one side of the main room) more for economy than for comfort. The fish tanks (no, these fish aren't for eating) are a nice touch, though.
But patrons don't seem to mind the decor. As part of Hawaii Kai's busy Koko Marina Center, overlooking the marina, Therapy draws a regular pau hana crowd on the weekdays and neighborhood folks on weekends. Any time a game or mixed martial arts fight is on, it gets busier, but even on off-nights, the after-work crowd will come in to grab a bite to eat, drink a beer and kick back for a while.
