Say you have friends visiting from the Mainland, and you want to take them somewhere kitschy and fun. Go right to Tiki's, where the over-the-top Island decor is so over-the-top that it actually is cool. You get a Waikiki beach view, good food and potent tropical drinks like the "Maika'i Mai Tai" and "Lono's Rum Punch" with pineapple juice and passion orange syrup. (You can even order your drink in a take-home tiki souvenir mug.) The bar, with live music, is a happening place for both tourists and locals. (You should see this place when Jimmy Buffet comes to town.) For grub, there's coconut shrimp, calamari katsu, panini sandwiches and guava-glazed ribs. This is the place your pals will remember years from now when they think about their trip to Hawaii.
