Honolulu's favorite bar pastimes

Chess

Games that require skill and deep thought usually aren't what bring people to a bar, but if you've got some time and a fun partner (or two, or three), chess can be a satisfying diversion.

A fun variation is speed chess, where the goal is to think quickly, or just to move your pieces as fast as possible. Typically the time limit for a game is set at something like a minute, and the winner is the person who captures the most pieces.
