Hello, First of all, congratulations for the site - great job. Now, I am trying to find a picture of a guy whose custom was an Egyptian Pharaoh - he was in Kalakaua and I think at Sr. Frog afterwards. He had an amazing abs and really great body. I need some pictures of him - we are trying to reach him to offer him some work as model. Does anybody have a picture of this person? Thank you and again, congratulations.

If you love great food...this is the place. If you love to watch the games...this is the place. If you want to dance your butt off all night...this is the place!!! What bar doesn't have fights and altercations...Beer and people really don't mix but we do it anyways right?! I love that they have strict policies and I think most bars should do the same. The doorman even carded me and Im 27! But I was impressed on how well these so called "Goriila" dorormen work. They really don't take crap from anybody and I feel safer knowing that if something does "break out" these "Gorillas" are ready for it. The people are friendly and even when my brother had lost his wallet a man found it in the bathroom and gave it to the doorman. There are always going to have negative feedbacks but you tend to realize later on that only the good feedbacks get affected..the bad feedbacks are only good for one thing...giving fuel. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and my opinion on the gentleman that had a bad experience is...you were one of the them that got kicked out, started something or got too drunk. Because when we're there and something bad happens,I garuntee you its one of these three things that make people hate Chez. Im all for Chez and I'll be seeing yall soon! Thanks!

Customer service is the key attraction to any sports bar as well as feeling a sense of 'ohana.' The experience at Champions provided for a very horrendous and disappointing venture. We waited almost 1/2 hour before a server approached our table to take our order. When we were served our food, the waitress just turned away without rendering any words. I had to try to get her attention in order to request some catsup and shoyu for my meal. In fact, I had to ask a second time. The 2 waitresses working were unfriendly, unprofessional and by the looks on their faces, they didn't seem quite happy and it reflected in their service. They didn't smile nor did they convey any genuineness to service the clientele. In addition, the prices are high and the serving relatively not in porportion with minimal value in flavor or presentation. My eggs were drenched in oil (at least 1 tsp) and the pancakes were sort of heavy in texture. I seriously would not recommend this sports bar. Treatment and service are bad!!!

Went there once .. cover charge was expensive along with the loooonnnngggg line. Drinks were fast to get, and they weren't that great. The stage area was neat ..with the dancers on stage, but not enough room to dance.

after reading some pretty crappy reviews (bad service, overpriced food) i didn't expect much from kanpai, but wanted to try a new place to pau hana anyway. we snagged one of the last parking spots in the back and was greeted warmly at the door. service was attentive throughout. the only inefficient thing (from a business standpoint) was that the servers didn't seem assigned to tables, so we were asked multiple times by the different girls if we needed a refill or more food and had to tell them "oh, we ordered it already." drink menu was extensive, i even had some decent sake altho the 2nd pour was way skimpy. we ordered (and thoroughly enjoyed) the spicy garlic chicken - it wasn't too too spicy and had a nice flaky crust. also had the kalbi over fried noodles which was OK but lacked the salty saimin flavor (and spam!) that i am used to when i fry noodles at home. the surprising thing was the portions were huge. i suggest going with a group of at least 4 and ordering family-style. if you haven't already, give kanpai a try! i know we'll def be back to try out other things on the menu.

I think that a lot of people have a bad impression of this bar. It's a great place if you just give it a try. Although business seems not as busy as before, the wait staff and service has improved substantially. They welcome you at the door and make you feel comfortable even if it is for the first time. Food is pretty good, although pricey it has gone down with their new menu. The restaurant next door allows you to order really good sushi on the bar side too! I think more people need to give it another chance, especially with football season here being able to watch simultaneously different games on all the screens and even get a table with your own personal screen is a plus compared to other bars.

Last night was hands down the most fun i've had on a First Friday so far. The new renovations and added bathroom facilities were a vast improvement. The music was great, the art was impressive, and the newly added Gallery room has the potential to be taken as a serious gallery space. The thousands of smiling faces and line that extended all the way to Bethel St. is how i know everyone had a great time. Can't wait for the next party!

Again the chance for Champions to show what a great place to watch sports. Soo many games! Good food and very nice staff. Rival fans cheering what a great time.

..but not a mention of that fantastic 'Manifest' wall? Or the art hanging about?? I think people would love to hear who's behind all that and how it was chosen...Either way, the place looks great! Besides leaving me wanting to know MORE, i loved the article and its descriptions; thanks.

I'm a writer, so I must say for starters---this is a well-written article. Lots of imagery and very descriptive. Maybe I'm biased because Brandon is my son, but nevertheless...good job on this, Kawehi!
Industry wrote about The Shack Waikiki
I loved this establishment since its first inception in Waikiki. Come on people. Just like Zanzabar. Now, this place instantly became a no-class breeding ground for non sanctioned MMA fights. Seriously, did a few people who go out to the Shack or employees who work there say, "I'm gonna kick some a@! tonight!" I guess they must have cause it's Headlines in the "Industry World." Everyone loses in the end. Another case of a good gone bad establishments in Hawaii.
Industry wrote about Zanzabar Nightclub
I've seen this establishment go down in history as becoming the oldest but worst nightclub. Why they are still in operation is just incredible. When one person have power in the tourist industry as well as control of certain operations, I guess that is why they are still in business. I've witness random acts of violence within the establishment, I have seen numerous amounts of under-age intoxication, and sexual harrassment nightly in Zanzabar. I have been told recently that two separate incidents had caused me to write this review. A woman in her mid 20s fell off the 2nd floor just outside of this establishment and a fight that made headline newspaper on Honolulu Advertiser. These events happened this past Saturday Night / Sunday Morning. Conclusion: Clean up your act or quit and leave with some dignity left.

All of your bouncer's think they're bad.Going around the different nightclub's & mobbing innocent customer's.Check out "Bar Seven" a few week's ago. They(your supposedly tough bouncer's) beat up someone very close to me.A week earlier the same weakling's,took out their anger on another individual from "Waimanalo". The owner's of "The Shack"please check out the lameless attack's your bouncer's are guilty of,outside of your place of business.Aloha

This club had an ad in the local weekly honolulu stating that you could get in free with the ad. We brought the ad in and they door man said they would honor it. After a 40 minute WAIT we FINALLY got to the front and the girl at the door said that they wouldn't honor it because it was after midnight. Nowhere on the ad did it say that it was only valid before midnight. This ad was VERY mislleading, and should've been honored especially after the long wait. Whoever made the ad isn't the smartest person. Very poor service and management. I was very disappointed. I hear Pearl at Ala Moana is a better club anyways.

We had so much fun, was a real no stress evening! Everything was smooth and enjoyable. We brought in coolers , grinds, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahlcohol!! No charge..Right--On! Song books & selection were sooo extensive. We sang oldies, Hawaiian songs-new & older- Top 100 current Hits, -I couldnt believe the titles they had. We were loading up the songs...so it was like continuous play rotation. Funny to see your friends get uninhibited and see them getin all in to 'it!! We will definetly come back next time we have a get together. I even have came by myself..just for a little me time ..stopped in...Nick gave me a small room good price...so I picked all the songs and practiced up on some new songs I been wanting to try 1st...w/out a crowd. Well this review is my personal opinion not so much a critique...I liked it so you should. Check it out. They need to put some sort of seating in front ..so smoker's dont have to stand around & huddle in front on sidewalk! Hey I know health conscious dont need to accomodate for the bad smokers...but it would be nice.

NO CLASS SERVICE - I went for the first time last week. I placed my order for take out, 3 slices of pizza. Before ordering, I asked several very busy, have no time for me waitresses and they confirmed they do slices. I waited about 20 minutes before asking how long more it would take. It was a Friday night, busy, loud and I guess too much for the staff. When I finally got my order it was regular pizza pies! The waitress was trying to find the blame even questioning ME, hello - how rude! The 2 guys behind the bar were the biggest jerks. I could see them swearing. One of them, Patrick, gave me the "hand" and told he couldn't take this SH_T and had no time. I was FURIOUS! I have NEVER EVER been treated like that in any service establishment. The owner came out and apologized but it does not erase "Patrick's" inexcusable action. The pizza is alright but the overall package is not worth it. People are being picky where they spend their money. This place will not get any more of mine.

Overall good bar but what's up with allowing smoking anywhere in the bar? It wasn't like this when I visited in the past and enjoyed it. Now it's gotten out of hand.

there's always someone in the crowd that has something bad to say about anothers good fortune. remember the saying "if you havent got anything good to say DONT SAY NOTHING AT ALL" it always warms my heart when i see young people bettering themselves and the community around them. CONGRATULATIONS on a JOB WELL DONE! good things come from hardwork and good genes!!!!
