Oh, the allure of fried, salty foods. What satisfies that craving better than fried chicken? We asked our friends on Twitter and beyond for their favorite fried chicken spots around the island, then went out to try the ones with the most raves.

Originally, there were 15 places on our list, but due to parking problems and other challenges (several places, for instance, sell out early), we could only get to 10. We also deliberately stayed away from national chains, opting instead to taste Japanese, Korean, Filipino and Puerto Rican versions, along with traditional Southern fried chicken.
