The tweet life
In a perfect world, everyone would be (or would have the option to be) everywhere all the time. Like, you would come with me to a private screening of the new movie Julie & Julia, hosted by Chef Mavro. Or you would have come along last night to the MGMT concert and we would have formed an impenetrable wall of human support that would have staved off the throngs of sweaty misbehaving teenagers. And it would have been a much better experience.
I would travel with a posse if I could, but things being the way they are, I see no entourage in my future. But I have the next best thing: a modest Twitter following. So, tweeps, join me as we work through my social calendar for the next few days. I'll keep you updated on the goings on at the following events, 140 characters at a time:
Heartbeat Hawaii, 7 p.m. tonight
The new ongoing show at Level 4 (it's replacing the now defunct Hawaii Nei) is, according to its creators, a spectacle of Chinese martial arts and acrobatics. We'll see. I'll be live tweeting from the show.
Haberdashery, 7-10 p.m. tonight
How a band this cool has been overlooked for a year is beyond me, but maybe tonight will change that. The band, which describes its music as avant-garde dirty-gypsy anti-folk, is headlining the Mercury Rising outdoor concert from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight in the alley outside of the Mecury Bar. It'll be like a mini block party. I'm hoping to make over there in time to catch their set. if I do, you can bet on a few tweets.
Julie & Julia screening with Chef Mavro, 7 p.m. Monday
It'll be a Honolulu foodie insiders' party and I'll tell you all about it. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to tweet during the film itself, but I'll tweet until someone tells me to stop.
