Slip into Jazz Minds before 9 p.m. to get past the cover charge, and enjoy nights full of rhythm, blues and cocktails. Some of the funkiest performers appear here, such as Paisley and the Temple Valley, Toyz of Pleasure, and the Honolulu Jazz Quartet. The dim lighting and chill atmosphere will have any newcomer feeling like part of the "in" crowd. Occasionally Jazz Minds owner Young Yi takes the mic, encouraging both beginning artists and virtuosos to strut their stuff.
