Thanks to everyone who entered our "Go tasting with Melissa Chang" contest. We loved reading all the reasons our readers would make good tasters, and we wish everyone could go on Wednesday night's dining journey to Gazen Izakaya. (We really do!)
But we could only pick three. So here are the lucky Metromix tasters, who all seem very passionate about eating and would make excellent dining companions. (We apologize to those of you who are friends or acquaintances with Melissa. We wanted her to eat with people she didn't know well to make things especially interesting...)

Her entry post: A few years ago, a small group of friends and I, spent an entire year trying a new eatery (everything from fine dining to hole in the walls) every Wednesday night. I love discovering new places and my friends/family call me the walking restaurant guide!

His entry post: I would be an excilent companion for any dining adventure. I'll try anything once, and I am well traveled having dined in Hawaii, LA, San Fransisco, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Detroit, & Napa to name a few. Oh and did I mention that I have a culinary degree?
mulansha of Manoa
Her entry post: I’d LOVE to join you!! I’m passionate about food because it carries many traditions and special memories: christmas omelets around my popo’s table, dazzling friends with my eating-style (shrimp-heads, chicken-feet, consuming TONS of food!), and losing the pidan eating contest (because i savored the delicacy too slowly!). Please choose me!
So be sure to check back for our tasters' review of Gazen, with lots of pics, of course!
