At Mikawon, the selling point is real charcoal instead of gas and a fancy exhaust system that whisks away the smoke. You can taste the smoky difference in the specialty wang kalbi, ribs seasoned in the style of the Korean town of Su Won, with a salt-sugar-sesame marinade instead of the usual shoyu. Meals come with rice, lots of ban chan and shik hae, a cool rice punch.
