Oahu's first and only Cuban restaurant opened Downtown in 2006, and it was quickly embraced by locals, even those who had never tasted a pressed Cuban sandwich. Simple black beans and rice or ropa vieja offer homey comfort. Or try the charmingly named camarones bailando (dancing shrimp), marinated in a "Cubano-chinois sauce." The guava-and-cheese-filled dessert empanada is also excellent. Overall, Soul De Cuba is a great place to come with a date or friends, with its hip decor, great music and addictive mojitos.

I was so excited when I found out there was a Cuban restaurant on the island that I immediately made a reservation to go and eat there the nest day...

that little tabasco sauce thing you can get on the side to pour over the beans and rice? OH MAN! ask for that!
