Ake
April 7, 2009
The best way to describe ake, a Hawaiian dish, is raw beef liver eaten poke-style. The liver is cut up into bite-sized chunks and mixed with salt, chili flakes, and limu at Haili’s Hawaiian Foods. The raw animal flavor of the organ makes you feel a little like an animal yourself.
