Fried saimin
June 17, 2009
We already had fried rice, so more starch seemed like overkill, but Christa had never had fried saimin, so we had to introduce her to it. Kaimuki Grill’s fried saimin is full of morsels: round onion, green onion, cabbage, sprouts, char siu and egg. The noodles are a little gummy — which we liked, but others may not — and reminiscent of bon dance fare. It's delicious, but if you’ve already eaten the fried rice, it probably will get left behind.
Cost: $5.50
Verdict: Yum!
