Spicy Soybean Sautee

If you go to a place like this, you have to order soybeans as part of the pupu mix. Kaimuki Grill makes their soybeans like Ryan’s — sauteed in shoyu, sugar and chili flakes. They're also quite generous with the garlic. However, the soybeans weren't as spicy as we were told they would be. In fact, we didn’t taste the chili at all. The flavor was great on its own with the shoyu and garlic, but we were surprised that it wasn’t spicy. It almost didn’t matter because Daniel and Anne out of habit sprinkled Tabasco on everything.
