Yam smoothie
Here’s your year-round Thanksgiving fix. At Jung Shave Ice on King Street, Mr. Jung opens a giant can of candied yams, spoons three buttery-tan lengths into his blender with sugar syrup (gasp) and ice, and whips up a large Styrofoam cup of icy goodness that transports us immediately to turkey time. Only $3. (Those with sensitive waistlines will ask Mr. Jung for less syrup.)
We’re alerted to this concoction when the girl in front of us orders one, licks off the top and groans.
