Where to get awesome fries in Honolulu

There are so many ways to fry a potato. And yet, we all seem to have our own preference when it comes to french fries. Some like the potatoes cut into thick wedges. Some like their fries battered and breaded. Others prefer crinkle cuts or curly fries. I’ve always leaned toward the thinner, crispier variety. Not quite shoestring, but nothing near steak fries. (And yes, McDonald’s ranks up high on my list.)
But as with many casual eats, french fries have found a spot on the menus at high-end restaurants and bistros around the country. They come dusted with kashi, flavored with onion powder, even baked. So what’s the criteria to rank the best french fries? It can’t be frozen. It has to be golden. And above all, it has to compliment a greasy burger and a thick shake.
Here are my top picks for best french fries in Hawaii, in no particular order...
