My Top 10 restaurants

Hard to choose just 10

Even without my work on Metromix, I eat a lot, so the question, "What’s your favorite Hawaii restaurant?" always stumps me. When asked what my top 10 spots were, that seemed even harder. With so many good places in Hawaii — with different cuisines, price points, and settings — it’s hard to narrow it down to just 10.

When thinking about it, you’ll probably find what I did: Your top 10 will probably be places close to home and/or close to where you grew up. Your list, and mine, may not totally be a reflection of your taste, but what comforts you. Also, I found that most of my favorite spots are not just about the food, but familiarity with the people there. What can I say? I’m a people person.

Here are some spots that I tend to gravitate toward, over and over, for different reasons, and in no particular order.
