New eats: Pioneer Saloon

We had been watching this spot on Monsarrat for months, wondering if it was ever going to open and what they planned to serve. The name and signage are definitely Western, but we had heard they would be serving Japanese-style plate lunches. The odd contrast in identity made us even more curious about what this place would be like, and more importantly, would it be any good?
Pioneer Saloon occupies the space that previously housed restaurants like Mi Casa Taqueria, Zazou, and Wild & Raw. There are a few parking spots along the side of the building, but you’ll be more likely to park nearby on the street. It finally opened two weeks ago, so we gave it a spin, and here’s what we found…

I think I'd like to try this restaurant. I'll find out if they're open on Sunday. Most "Japanese" restaurants don't open on Sunday.
