Sorabol

- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
Sorabol is the biggest Korean restaurant in Hawaii, and easily the most popular. It's a rambling place with lots of tables and several private dining rooms. The 24-hour service attracts its share of wee-hour clubbers in need of Yoo Kae Jang, a spicy hot beef soup that's known to tame a hangover. Although most Sorabol customers are Korean, locals without Korean roots come as well for the wide-ranging menu that includes kalbi, steamed butterfish, abalone porridge and spicy tofu soup. It's a good place to come if you want to expand your sampling of Korean food beyond the standard take-out fare, but don't feel ready to venture to the more hard-core Korean spots on Keeaumoku.
