This isn't another okazuya with the typical nori and furikake varieties. It's a quirky little eatery, where owners Manabu and Fumiyo Asaoka start their day at 3:30 a.m. to hand-make the day's musubis and okazu.
A friend advised the couple to name the restaurant Mana Bu's, separating Manabu's name to emphasize the “mana,” which means "energy" in Hawaiian. The "bu" is just…well, "bu," he says.
