Vegetarian chef John Fogle led the flagship Down to Earth deli on King Street in winning the best vegetarian division at 2007's Flavors of Honolulu (and took the honor the five previous years at Taste of Honolulu). His focus is on packing nutrition as well as palate-awakening flavor into each dish. Signature dishes: eggplant Parmesan, lasagna, Thai green curry, enchiladas, and cheesecakes. The smoothies and bakery goods are also good bets for breakfast or a healthy snack. Tables are available upstairs if you want to dine-in.
