    Roy's Restaurant

    Roy's Restaurant - 4

    6600 Kalanianaole Highway - Honolulu

Roy's will elevate your taste buds with the finest of sauces and seasonings. You can take a date there, but you may be cockblocked by a crab cake or two; Maybe an affair with the Schezuan style baby back pork ribs; Perhaps a one night stand with the Macadamia nut crusted fresh fish of the day? Your date might be forgiving, but these dishes may not be. You're one of two categories when dining at any Roys location: The uneducated tastebud, or the returning addict. Tell Deva I said "Hello"

    Bravo Restaurant - 0

    98-115 Kaonohi St. - Aiea

An Italian-style eatery with a great price range for the amount of food they serve. Just enough selections to fulfill any person's pasta/pizza addiction. Seriously, I could really just go to Bravo Restaurant for the Garlic Bread, order a water, tip 5 bucks, and leave happy. But why not enjoy a seafood linguine while I'm there, huh?

    Shiro's Saimin Haven

    Shiro's Saimin Haven - 5

    98-020 Kamehameha Highway - Aiea

If you're looking for a damn good bowl of saimin, you might wanna go here. Alone, or in a party of 38, don't matter. There's a flavor for everyone. My favorites are anyone that says "Spicy". With a side of tofu.

    Cafe Kaila

    Cafe Kaila - 4 1/2

    2919 Kapiolani Blvd. - Honolulu

Keywords: Organic, Pancakes, Breakfast, Made from Scratch. The food here is top notch. The décor is very comforting, including the fresh rose on every table. As many other restaurants use “breakfast served all day” as a gimmick, Café Kaila takes it up a level, and makes “breakfast required all day,” and will take your heart out of any other breakfast joint and place it here for your next return. Pass up on the pancakes, and you may as well flee the country, because there are dire consequences to such a crime. The lunch is equally as appealing to the taste bud, including the amazing variety of salads. Personally, I’m a breakfast person, so indulge as you must.

    Bangkok Chef

    Bangkok Chef - 5

    1627 Nuuanu Ave. - Honolulu

Cost-effective, health-conscious, and delicious. Thai textures never tasted so titillating. This is probably one of the best reasons to visit upper Nu'uanu Ave., and most recenlty, Manoa Valley's new location. Parking may be perilous, but well worth the workout. Trust. For the BC-newbies, I say try the Thai Green Curry w/ brown rice, sub Tofu.

Curry House Coco Ichibanya - 0

    1960 Kapiolani Blvd. - Honolulu

Katsu Curry. Sometimes I have dreams about taking a bath in the actual curry. The next morning, I usually awake with a smile on my face, and the day is good. There's no reason to ever pass up an opportunity to visit this fine House.

    Pyramids

    Pyramids - 0

    758 Kapahulu Ave. - Honolulu

The finest of Mediterranean cuisine on this side of town. Pyramids is a definite stop for your falafel fix, the shawerma squirms, or for those with a hummus hankering. For the first-timers, the meal will treat your virgin taste buds to a rollercoaster of Egyptian flavors. From the appropriate décor, to the middle eastern dishes, to the belly dancing surprise, Pyramids practices what it preaches. Personally, I enjoyed the presentation of the check. Let the suspense unfold on your own.

    Cafe Maharani

    Cafe Maharani - 5

    2509 S. King St. - Honolulu

Warning: Do not exit the restaurant without ordering the Green Pepper Chicken Curry (hot). You shall not be forgiven, if done so. For the novice, wear a headband. Visiting 1 - 2 times a month, Maharani is never a let down. Bring a friend or two, for the portions are beyond generous. And, as if you didn't know, B.Y.O.B., boyee! P.S. Buttered Naan is a must.

    Goma Tei

    Goma Tei - 0

1450 Ala Moana Blvd. - Honolulu

The tan tan ramen here has the power to override any and everything in the course of an ordinary day for me. Whether its picking mother up from the airport, going to work, or sitting down to a steak and lobster dinner, Goma Tei can easily take my heart and mind away for the time being. Tasty, light, full, simple, distinct; in reality, under all the sauce it's really a bowl of love.

    Phuket Thai

    Phuket Thai - 3

    1960 Kapiolani Blvd. - Honolulu

I’d like to think that I’m biased when it comes to Thai cuisine, only because I enjoy it for its savory, flavorful sauces. The Garlic shrimp, sticky rice, and what I like to call “Mochi-textured-Cone-Sushi” Spring rolls are a must. Either take-out or dine-in, the cuisine provides synonymous pleasure.
