  • Kim Chee II can take credit for helping popularize kalbi, bulgogi and Korean BBQ chicken in Honolulu. It's been at the same Waialae Avenue spot for years, way before this Kaimuki strip became a restaurant hot spot. And its still serving up the same food - huge plates of Korean BBQ with watered-down kim chee and namul. Locals love Kim Chee II for its slightly sweet kalbi flavor and fair prices. There's not much atmosphere to speak of, but that's part of its old-school charm.

Eh. I don’t feel strongly about it either way. I don’t hate it or love it, I wouldn’t recommend it or dismiss it, it just is.
